Celebrating our first 10 Years in Business, 1999-2009

Just some of the clubs Storm Academy has trained and are presently training. Many thanks go out to all the volunteers of these clubs that make a huge contribution to their soccer community. Storm provides coaching for over 3000 players per week during a soccer season and many thousands more in their camp programs.

David Price with World Cup winning Coach Marcelo Lippi after the NY Freedom vs Juventus game in 2003 that was organized by Champions World and the Storm Academy. Juventus played their entire first team which included Nedved, Davids and Del Piero to name a few.

The collaboration between Storm Academy and NY Freedoms in 2002 became a rewarding one with the first team reaching the Elite 8 in the USISL.

The partnership continued to flourish with the U16 team winning the Super Y-League National Championship. The final was shown on Fox Sports.

Storm Academy vs Everton in 2003. Just one of the many games Storm Academy has organized as part of their overseas soccer tours. Storm Academy has played Blackburn Rovers, Bolton, Everton, Charlton Athletic plus many more. Many of the players they played against are current Premier League and Championship players.

Storm Academy trained Albertson Clash became the first boys team from New York to win back-to-back Region 1 titles in 2003 and 04. They also made the Region 1 final in 2005 playing up a year in the U19 age group losing 0-1. They also won 4 consecutive state cups.

In 2005 the Storm Academy trained New Rochelle Raiders came third in the U.S. Youth National Championship after winning the Region 1 trophy. They also won 4 state cups.

Jon Urbom has been instrumental in Storm Academy's progress. He has been a Goalkeeping coach for 3 National Championship winning coaches and the current GK coach for Storm Academy. He was also an All-American GK in college.

Storm Academy win the Super Y-League National Championship in 2005.

Jim McElderry, Head Coach of Fordham University was an instrumental figure in helping Storm Academy train the New Rochelle Raiders and Super Y-League teams. He also assisted Storm Academy to their National Championship in 2005. Paul Cusano who won the NCAA Div 1 Championship in 1996 also became one of the most successful assistant youth coaches in the country winning 4 state cups and 2 Region 1 championships between 2003-06.

Tony Noto got the Storm Academy U18's to the National final four in 2005. John Diffley, former National team player, got the Storm Academy U19's to the National final in the same year.

As a head coach David Price guided three different teams to five National Championship appearances. His last championship appearance as a coach was with the U20 New York Red Bull. He is the first coach in the history of the Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association to lead teams to the National Championship for three straight years. With these achievements he became bigapplesoccer.com coach of the year two years in a row and ENY Soccer Coach of the year.
As a Director of Coaching he won the National Championship in 2002 (U16's) and 2005 (U17's).

Storm players in the pros; Andreas Chronis who was part of the Storm Academy National Championship side in 2005 signed pro forms with AEK Athens in 2006. Kevin Mesa who won the Region 1 title with the Storm Academy trained NR Raiders signed forms with NY Red Bull in 2007. Bakary Soumare who played for the Storm Academy in the U19 National final in 2005 is currently signed with the Chicago Fire.

Michael Grella was part of the Storm Academy from U12-U19 where he played in over 250 games. During his career with the Academy he reached two National Championships, he then joined Head Coach David Price at the U20 Red Bulls and reached another National Championship in 2006. Grella has just signed professional forms with Leeds United.

Just a few of the current crop of Storm Academy coaches. In 2008 Storm Academy had 7 college coaches on it's staff. Many members of the staff might have their own ideas of the best Storm Academy XI!!!!
